For anyone fortunate enough to have a short wave receiver with SSB
capability, a list of speech weather transmission frequencies can be found at: http://www.yachtcom.co.uk/comms/Frequencies.htm I guess the most readily received - well in Southern England - are Shannon Volmet on 5.505MHz and RAF Volmet on 5.450MHz. They fade away a bit after dark but are a good "59" signal in daylight hours. No prize for spotting the mistake in the information/format guide - I wonder what "Due Point" is!!! |
