Hi, All,
I see the Met Office has moved Boltshope Park up into Northumberland from County Durham in the climate summaries. Once it's been done, it takes months to re-locate! The BBC site also has it in the wrong county, but I assume they get their info. from the Met O. http://www.metoffice.com/climate/uk/2005/ When I began sending climat. obs to the Met O. from my site at Low Etherley back in the early 1970s they did exactly the same thing and moved my location from Durham to Northumberland in their (splendid) Monthly Weather Report. It took a year to get me back! It seems little has changed. Now, I don't expect many people, apart from us proud folk, care about where these tiny places are, but think how much more accurate the already splendid forecasts would be if the Met O actually knew the correct location of the reporting stations! Best wishes, -- Ken Cook, Copley (5miles north of Barnard Castle), County Durham. 830ft http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/copley (MO climat. site updated before 10Z and 19Z daily) kencookATcopleydurham.freeserve.co.uk (All times GMT) |

(sorry about the bad form of replying to my own post, precious little to do in Copley!) -- Ken Cook, Copley (5miles north of Barnard Castle), County Durham. 830ft http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/copley (MO climat. site updated before 10Z and 19Z daily) kencookATcopleydurham.freeserve.co.uk (All times GMT) |
