April was a fairly bright month, at times quite warm but with several
days of damp weather. Mean temperatures finished up being somewhat above the long term average and rainfall was down. Events of note include one day (21st) where humidity was especially low at 24%. A lightning strike from a small thunderstorm on the 27th caused a short power outage at the University campus but passed just to the north of the station so only 2.0mm of rain was recorded. The 30th was pleasantly warm, and at 24.4°C, was the warmest day since 5th September 2004.
