It continues to rain here, with some very heavy bursts at times. It seems
as if some sort of convergence zone has set itself up from SW Wales
towards Kendal area, XCWeather shows it very well. 12Z Camborne ascent
sampled a very "relaxed" lapse rate -

Hints of speed and directional shear at various points of the ascent.

Joe

Actually Joe the Bulk Richardson Numbers suggest something in the supercell
spectrum .looks like some big storms broke out in the Midlands and NE
thereof, any reports of storm structure out there?
Haven't been able to follow things today.
Much better day in SE London than forecast ,deep convection suppressed- due
to large scale subsidence and lack of moisture?

Hi David,

This would seem to suggest some of the other parameters thought the same -

The rain was torrential at one point today in Thornton, the M61 on the way
back to Manchester had a lot of standing water.
