Very gusty winds with heavy rain and thunder moving in from the SW over
the last half hour.

Still raining heavy here but wind now dropped light.
Looks like the wind increase was a downdraft ahead of the trough line.
It was difficult to be exact because I was just getting up after a night
shift and the thunder woke me up first but it shows quite nicely on the
Hilbre weather station wind data.

The leading edge has now reached Bolton, the sudden strong winds
and angry looking cloud has brought the neighbours scurrying out to
bring their washing in.

Just in time too, weather is now heavy rain.

It's arrived here too with some gusto, heavy rain falling with gusty wind.
Awaiting the first crack of thunder.
