I just noticed these interesting statistics on the Google group (beta)
web site for all time top ten posters to the group. I can't imagine who that is at number one... 4008 3374 2805 2328 1883 1819 1647 1539 1477 1339 |

That's the problem with using email adress as the measure. I've changed mine many times in the last five years to avoid spam. Strangely, the current address gets none, yet has been used for several months now. -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 17/12/2004 23:29:53 UTC |

My ISP Planet Internet has been taken over and renamed Scarlet. You should see that change in the "From" address of this post. The ISP supplied a small piece of software to program users' PCs to convert the old forms of e-mail address into the new ones. If I stop getting e-mails on 1st January 2005, I will know it doesn't work ... Colin Youngs Brussels |

I've seen it suggested that spammers now rely more on extracting addresses from Web pages rather than from newsgroups. (Of course, that raises the question of whether the Web pages include sites such as Google Groups.) -- John Hall "Never play cards with a man called Doc. Never eat at a place called Mom's.
