Unfortunately, their website no longer works with Firefox. As I can't yet install Internet Explorer on Linux, I am now unable to view any of the BBCs online weather content. So much for being brought up to the "21st century". What part doesn't work for you Jonathan? Seems ok here using FF 1.0.4 on Gentoo Linux... -- Chris www.ivy-house.net Swaffham, Norfolk |

However, a few accessibility problems - if you have your font size increased slightly, then the placename labels don't appear in the right place (try increasing the font size on the UK map - you can get Birmingham almost into East Anglia!). -- Jonathan Stott Canterbury Weather: http://www.canterburyweather.co.uk/ |

Also, the weather map images are so highly compressed that you actually lose detail and things like raindrops on the symbols are almost indistinguishable from the sea behind. -- Jonathan Stott Canterbury Weather: http://www.canterburyweather.co.uk/ |

Why does the date have to be superimposed on the image when there is any amount of room on the page for that sort of thing? So that when you use the animation feature you know the date/time you are viewing without having to reload the whole page. All that changes is the displayed image. You might not have realised that there are animation buttons though, the top 1/4 of the standard rewind forward stop play buttons is hacked off in my browser. -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |
