I've only seen one forecast, from the Multiscreen News page on the
BBCi. Even at 1/4 frame size all that swooping about a) detracted from
the presentation of the information and b) made me feel seasick, I
better get a bucket ready for when I see a fullscreen forecast...

.... interesting comment: my wife said exactly the same .... didn't
affect me: I didn't watch it!

Martin.

Michael, lets hope you have more luck with your criticism of the beebs
forecasting format, than I had commenting on their star presenter desperate
Dan Corbett !

Personalities are not fair comment on a site he has little or no say on.
Since I am paying fro the bloody awful weather formats on BBC I am
entitled to know why they are not a lot better. And it is a fair comment
on this newsgroup.

There are plenty of BBC notice boards Mr Corbett can have his turn on if
you want to drag his name through the dirt. Though why you should is
beyond me.

I've met some very hairy meat eaters in my time that draw the line at
speaking ill of people behind their back.

And I've met a few that will stoop to anything. Not my cup of tea, them
sort.

A long time ago the 3D revolution swept into gaming, with games such as Doom
bringing smooth scrolling 3D to the masses. One of the major complaints was
that people became seasick watching the graphics, not due to the gore but as
a result of the brain thinking you were physically moving when you weren't.

The new BBC graphics borrow heavily from gaming technologies and the smooth
scrolling, parallaxing effects were bound to cause problems with some
people, more especially those who've avoided playing 3D games until now!

It's one of those things that'll go away over time, the more you watch the
more used to it you'll become and eventually you'll no longer feel queasy.
