Seems since we got spring weather last October, we're getting autumn
weather - but without the leaves - now :-(

Shrewsbury. In a normal October we can expect an airfrost or two, and a
few warmish (high teens C) sunny days.
October 2004 had day after day of low pressure, moderate rain spells,
low grey cloud and temps around 8-13C. No frost, no warmth. Wind
direction variable. One thunderstorm (rare in October) was the only
break in the monotony. I commented at the time on the lack of
temperature range, almost throughout it was 10-14 by day, 6-9 by night.
Extreme range from 2 to 16 - we had a bigger range than that in a day
at least once last week. "Clear, sharp skies" were totally and utterly
absent.
