Between 04 and 05Z this morning (23rd), we had some rain from a
trough-like feature crossing southern-most counties of England. I noticed when I did the ob at 09Z that we had had some rain in the gauge (trace only), and that the adjacent plastic/3inch gauge had a dusty deposit in the funnel. However, didn't really think this was significant as couldn't be sure that it wasn't just days accumulation of dirt. However, have now come back from weekly shop at Sainsbury's over at Bagshot Road and *many* cars there, and also in the Great Hollands car park have a *significant* deposit of light-grey fine dust (with streaking of the deposit) ... I can't be sure it was the feature above that caused this, but the number of vehicles affected is high and the effect striking. Anyone else in the south seen this or similar?
