i think it needs to be pointed out that unless something very special
happens it won't be a country-wide white christmas.

For some places, yes.

Latest beeb forecast that i watched (late) told people to 'watch this
space' because they can't put the detail on Christmas Day yet.

I would never believe those precip charts, someone posted one in here a
couple days ago. Yeah and it showed a large horizonal line of snow
across southern Ireland.

They don't get much snow in southern Ireland (low ground)

Too many disappointments in the past, i'm too wise to get excited about
white Xmas. Let it start to happen first.

We've got two days of double figure temps (12C in south) and then it
will take time for the colder to start to dig in.

Might have been more interesting if we didn't get this mild interlude
mid-week. Therefore staying average or slightly below
