The combination of a post about the drought here, a forecast for a dry day
and a Bank Holiday Monday has produced the most significant rainfall here in weeks. I'd almost forgotten that wonderful smell of fresh rainfall, enlivening the garden more than any hosepipe can. I just hope it clears later so as not to spoil people's outdoor activities. Dave, S.Essex |

Dave, S.Essex Well, the forecast for East Anglia was for showers. It was not for the torrential downpour which has happened in Norfolk... The rain was so heavy a cycling event was called off this morning as the A11 was turned into a river in many places south of Norwich and visibility was *seriously* reduced due to volume of rain combined with spray from vehicles. It was seriously nasty out there this morning :-( |
