My total for May was 18.4 mm, barely 40% of the 1971 - 2000 mean. This makes
it the driest May here since 1998, but May 1990 was even drier. The total for 20005 so far is 168mm which is 68% of the mean, and the first 5 months of the year have been the driest since 1997. In 1997 a wet June followed the dry sequence of months. Peter Clarke Ewell Epsom 55m |

My total of 32.6 mm (58%) gives me the seventh consecutive dry month, for which the total is 59% of normal. The 12-month running total is 617 mm, which is 75% of normal. Driest May here was 1989 with only 2.2 mm. (Starting 1983). Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, NE Surrey, 556 ft. |
