I had hoped that today would give us some much needed heavy rain. However,
today's showers gave only 2.8mm and no thunder. Yet I see that Heathrow, not too far away, had 10mm. Now the sky is clearing again, and looking at next week's charts, it doesn't look as though we are going to get much more for some time. Peter Clarke Ewell Epsom 55m |

Peter,
Same here in Guildford. A 90min period of -RA and RA amounting to 2.5mm. No thunder. The bulk went to the SE earlier in the day and the NW later. Phil Guildford. |

The male blackbird outside the window is chirruping away merrily now all the wormies are coming up to the surface! Here Peter in Coulsdon we had even less with just 1.2mm of rain. No thunder
heard either. Garden still bone dry. Ian Currie-Coulsdon, east Surrey www.frostedearth.com "Peter Clarke" wrote in message ... I had hoped that today would give us some much needed heavy rain. I drove up from Dorset this morning to Wadhurst for a late lunch. As I drove back I thought it seemed to be getting mighty dark ahead of me. I was on the dreaded M25 and with warnings of queues ahead decided to come off and head down the A3 to Guildford! It was at about 1700 IIRC and boy,did the heavens open for about 10 minutes- everything slowed to an absolute crawl. By the time I got to a snarl up presumably close to Guildford (I was going across to Aldershot Garrison) the rain stopped quite quickly. The run back from Aldershot was good - left at 2122 and arrived west of Dorchester at 2306. I have yet to check the AWS at work to see if Dorset had anything... Cheers Robin |

Cheers Robin Hi Robin - a few miles can make a difference. I am located at Merrow which is a mile or so E of Guildford. During the rain, the skies looked quite dark to the NW, and I thought it was really going to get going! But nothing of note.... Phil |

Peter Clarke Ewell Epsom 55m You folks in the SE are in for big trouble water-wise soon as I have been saying for some time now. I wish I could give you some of mine, garden is damp still but at least everything looks fresh, 10.8 mm so far this June and still light drizzle outside at 2200. I'm actually really looking forward to the dry weather this coming week, but I sympathise a lot having lived in a dry area (Crowthorne desert) for over 20 years.
