It's an early start for me today, as I'm off to the wolf centre soon;
therefore the analysis is shorter than usual today. The models continue to show a settled outlook, with high pressure over or to the west. There's still a frost risk looming for inland areas should winds fall light and skies clear. Quick summary for noon (GMT) on Thursday - isssed 0536z 5/06/05 ECM: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Recm1201.gif High pressure lies to the west with a ridge over the UK. Winds are NNW'lies and northerlies, followed by northerlies at T+144 as the high declines in situ. MetO: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rukm1441.gif Unavailable today. GFS: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rtavn1201.gif Northerlies and NE'lies cover the UK, with high pressure over Ireland and NW Scotland. The high declines at T+144, leaving light winds over the UK. GEM: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rgem1201.gif GEM shows a high to the NW with NW'lies across the UK. The winds become northerlies at T+144 as the high merges with the Greenland High and low pressure deepens over southern Norway. DWD: http://www.wetter.com/home/img/sat/g...050000_120.gif The German run shows a northerly flow over the UK, with a high to the west. The high moves over the UK at T+144, bringing light winds for all. |
