Default Spain warns desert is spreading

There is evidence here that my vision of the effects of climate change are
closer to the truth than those who believe it will result in Britain
re-entering an ice age :-(

"The deserts of north Africa are threatening to leap the Mediterranean and
creep through Spain, according to government figures made public as part of a
national campaign to halt desertification."

I have just been to Google's map site for an interesting 3 second look
at Spain. Early days yet? Or did they get their software from the same
place as the BBC?

What I was trying to find out was how much of Spain is already
officially
desert or semi-desert.

Should we expect the Gonadione to know that the Sahel is a region that
extends and decreases cyclically?

The Sahel is a long way from Spain, but anyway if you read the article
it also blames the deertification on [British] tourists.

Cheers, Alastair.
