Default So where are the storms?

The Countryfile forecast suggested pretty nasty thunderstorms for much
of England by early afternoon, but the latest radar image shows nothing
at all developing. The cold front over Scotland appears to be decaying
rapidly and going nowhere fast.

Currently 25.4C here in Bolton, pretty overcast but some sun at times.

All in good time, Col.

Some chunky Cu turrets going up here now with cloud at various levels
indicating moisture is readily available. Latest WV image shows a small lobe
of vorticity, maybe a shortwave trough of sorts, entering into Wales which
should trigger things in the next hour or so I'd guess. There is plenty of
potential instability aloft, it just needs a trigger.

storms.
