Default Today's model interpretation (19/06/05)

Once again I'm shortly off to the wolf centre, hence this shorter analysis.

Quick summary for noon (GMT) on Thursday - isssed 0542z 19/06/05

The models show much cooler weather affecting the UK by next weekend, with
disagreement on whether it will be settled (MetO, GEM) or not (GFS). As
ever, more runs are needed.

ECM: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Recm1201.gif
High pressure covers the UK with ligh winds for all. The high moves away to
the NE at T+144, allowing light and variable winds to cover the UK. By day 7
a shallow low is centred over England and Wales, with easterlies and NE'lies
elsewhere.
MetO: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rukm1441.gif
Light NW'lies, northerlies and NE'lies cover the UK, with a ridge over
Northern Ireland. The ridge builds at T+144, with variable winds over Wales
and England; elsewhere winds are NW'lies and northerlies.
GFS: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rtavn1201.gif
A deep low lies to the north, resulting in westerlies over the UK. The low
fills over Shetland at T+144 as a trough moves eastwards, leading to NW'lies
for all.
GEM: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rgem1201.gif
GEM shows a trough to the east and northerlies for most. A ridge sinks
SE'wards over the UK at T+144, bringing NW'lies to Northern Ireland and
Scotland with northerlies elsewhere.
