Thunder increasing in Hornchurch.

Lightning seen in direction 215 degrees clockwise from north.
becoming severe.

Teletext says no covers needed at Wimbledon. Oh yeah.

few flashs of lighting the temp is 22C wind from nw 4Km/H and the
humidity 69%..and just had one very loud rumble

Essex.Almost continuous thunder in distance.

June.

Actually current Vis,IR and radar only shows a local storm just NE of
London.Spurred by the Heat Island?Activity died away on the IOW detector
apart from the North Sea,

dunno whether George over in Epping ,6 miles north of here has reported any
activity ?

Almost certainly not spurred by the heat island. With the convective
activity effectively decoupled from the boundary layer, the forcing is
mainly dynamic with a little support from cloud top radiation possibly.
