Default Sundays large hail in Stourbridge

Just had a report of 50mm size hail in Wolaston, near Stourbridge at 1720BST
Sunday afternoon.

Wombounr max on Sunday 31.2C.

I went to my aunt's at Bridgnorth, Shrops today, and the ground was bone
dry. She said it went very dark and breezy about 6pm yesterday, but
that's all.

Looking from the RADAR yesterday the storms just touched the West
Midlands, before dying away.

Has some one redefined linear measurement without telling me?

Those hail stones are 25 to 30mm not 50mm. 50mm on my hand is the best
part of three fingers width at the palm...
