Are you sure that that's right? It sounds a bit low for the conditions
you're describing.

Alan, yes that was correct for the time I looked. The rate has been up and

down
like a bride's nightie. One minute 15 mm/h the next less than 1mm/h. At no

stage
would I have described the rainfall as torrential, just very heavy which is

why
we only got just over 30mm. The storm was notable for the fantastic lightning
and loud booming thunder and of course the shelf cloud with rotation.

Highest instantaneous rainfall rate from my Davis AWS was 92.7 mm/h at 0500
local.

One thing I forgot to mention last
night was the strong and gusty wind max gust was 28 knots at 0445 local.

Some decent gusts here too, Will, which I wasn't expecting much given the
initially very high base. Although that came down considerably after dawn.

Could not get to sleep last night. 0205 woken by heavy rain.

But if you could not get to sleep, then how could the heavy rain *wake*
you?
