Default Olfactory/Live 8.........Mr J Smith...explain

It's funny the main two topics on the G-8 Agenda -courtesy of TB and GB are
poverty in Africa and Global Warming. Some folk deny the politics that
permeate the GW argument. Mr Smith has just proved that point.
Yesterday we had a thread on Live 8. As we know this was all about rich
pretentious pop stars venting their spleen on African poverty. Now what does
pop-stars and African policy have to do with uk.sci.weather? I put it to you
nothing!
Yet Mr J Smith says nowt about this. Yet I post an admittedly message about
my cynicism for the governments stance on GW, and Mr J Smith starts getting
all uppity and righteous.

Now tell me which subject matter is closer the weather, Climate change or
pop stars performing to raise African poverty awareness?

Please tell me Mr Smith.

Give him a break. He was probably having a bad hair day.

What gets me about these pop stars is that with about £15 going into the
industry for every CD it puts out; the gross annual product of just the
front men on show yesterday could have supplied enough drugs and water
purification units to solve Africa health problems for a decade or more.

No wonder they didn't want to mention money.

I'd bet that RIAA spend more money sueing P2P downloaders than some
African countries' GNPs.

Talking of which; I just opened Google News and looked for Africa or an
African country in the drop down box for news on the devastating floods
there.

Guess why there is no link to it from this post!

As I thought Mr Smith you can't answer a simple question.
I'll pose it again.

What has more relevance to the weather.
Global Warming or Poverty in Africa ? Fairly simple.

Now if you want to say you can't stand my fatuous comments, fair enough Mr
Smith. But do not level the criticism of off topic, when you totally ignored
the Live 8 thread.

Mike thanks for the support-but leave now while you can., before you are
tainted by my stench. I'll have to rely on Michael and Gavin, so things are
far worse than I thought. Sorry Michael and Gav.
