Default Early October?

Well it certainly felt like it this morning. Like when the autumn lows really
start getting going. Blustery, almost squally showers, then sunshine.
Ground by this afternoon littered with leaves and twigs.

Thank goodness 'proper' summer is on it's way!

This is all part of "proper" summer, as you well know, even if
warmer weather is nicer.

Yes, of course I know that but warm and sunny still feels like what
summer 'should' be like, even though it often isn't, especially up here

That said, the last three days have been particularly poor.

Monday - Max 12.4C, cloudy with showers.
Tuesday - Max 13.6C, moderate/heavy rain all afternoon.
Wednesday - Max 14.9C, blustery showers in the morning, some sun in the
afternoon.

3 consecutive days below 15C in July is pretty woeful, even for me.

What will be interesting is the steady climb of temps from that appalling 12.4C
on the 4th to perhaps the high 20's by the start of next week.

I'm loving this cool weather, and it's now just 55 days to the end of
summer...
