Scene shift to Deception Island; research team woken by big bang, local mountain was dormant volcano!! (Dramatic rescue by supply ship?) Research vessel reports discoloured water and currents not as charted. Hero(ine) joins vessel on trip to Cape Horn; sea much too shallow!! Fog cleared by violent storm and lo - new reef has risen closing the gap between The Cape and the Palmer Peninsular. HOLIDAY QUESTION: with the Southern Ocean blocked south of Cape Horn what would happen to climate and weather? Would the Statue of Liberty be drowned again?Would there be white Christmasses in the British Isles? Happy contemplation (not constipation). |
