Default Today's model interpretation (15/07/05)

Today I'm due at the Kent Showground to help with the wolves at 7 AM (6z),
so there's not much to write about at this time of day!

Quick summary for noon (GMT) on Tuesday - isssed 0442z 15/07/05

The runs show a westerly spell midweek, with some (ECM, GFS) showing
relatively unsettled weather across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Further
south the Azores High will have more of an influence, but how much of an
effect it has varies between models. The meain geature looks like being
cooler air across the UK, with 850hPa temperatures below +5C over most of
the UK at T+120 according to the GFS. As ever, more runs are needed.

ECM: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Recm1201.gif
A deep low lies to the north, leading to westerlies across the UK. The low
fills and moves NE'wards at T+144 with westerlies persisting over the UK.
MetO: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rukm1441.gif
A large high lies to the SW, leading to WNW'lies for all. Further westerlies
cover the UK at T+144 as pressure rises to the SW.
GFS: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rtavn1201.gif
Westerlies cover the UK, with low pressure centred to the north. The low
moves slowly NE'wards at T+144 with NW'lies for all. The NW'lies persist at
T+168 as the low fills over Skagerrak.
GEM: http://64.246.48.81/pics/Rgem1201.gif
GEM shows moderate to strong westerlies over the UK due to a relatively deep
low over Shetland.
DWD: http://www.wetter.com/home/img/sat/g...141200_120.gif
A ridge lies to the west with WNW'lies across the UK. The winds become
lighter over England and Waless at T+144 as pressure builds south of
Ireland. Elsewhere, moderate WNW'lies persist.
