Default Maximum & Minimum temperatures - time of occurrence

This is one for those of you who have weather stations that time-stamp
daily highs & lows.

While it must vary somewhat between summer & winter, what sort of time
do they tend to occur, on average?

I don't have such a weather station, but my understanding is that minima
commonly occur around dawn, in winter maxima tend to occur around 1pm
and in summer around 4pm local time (3pm GMT).

If you look at the Monthly Reports for Wokingham on this page
http://www.btinternet.com/~wokingham.weather/wwp1.html
Click on any of the reports from Jan 2004 onwards, they open with Adobe
Acrobat Reader, and go to page 6 you will find psychrometer readings with
the times of daily max/min of both temperature and humidity.

My max in summer can often be around noon to 1pm, after which the sea
breeze sets in and either cools things down or just keeps things level.
My highest temperatures are often when towords the end of a hot spell a
west or southwesterly keeps the sea breeze at bay, we then get no breeze
at all.

Default Maximum & Minimum temperatures - time of occurrence

From about March through until November the minimum temp usually occurs just
before dawn.

The maximum is rather different, back in Worcester the maximum during the
summer usually occurred at around 4-4:30pm, here in south Devon (with a sea
influence) it (so far) seems to occur at around 2:30pm (before the sea
breeze works its way this far inland).

As for spring and autumn, max seems to be around 3:00pm.

In winter, the max and mins are all over the place with maximums sometimes
occurring at night and minimums during the daytime.

I have a plot of times of min and max temperatures throughout the year, I
could dig it out?

Looking at this month, high's generally 14-1500 BST, 20th was 0820! Min's
generally 04-0500 BST.
Feb high's generally 12-400 GMT. Low's all over the place.
Quite a few low's occur around 0000 particularly in winter.

I can't (yet) record time of occurrence, but in hot weather in my
garden, ISTM the maxima can occur at 5pm or even later.
