Default BBC overpredicting minimum temperatures

During the recent spell, this seems to happen just about every night.

For example, last night they claimed lows of 13-14C, but with the DP
under 10C, I knew their figure was crap - and I was proven right.
Temperature here down to 10.5C.

Do they think everyone lives in the centre of huge city heat islands?

Umm.. most people do.. would you rather them say 10C, and get it wrong for
most people?

I suppose with night time temperatures it's best to go for the lowest
figure, so that people organising barbecues, etc, are prepared.
A noticeable plunge in temperature in a rural area (Sparsholt, Hants)
on Sunday evening, I'd guess down to about 15C by 10.30pm. The past 10
days or so have been characterised by warm days but often rather cool
nights, unusually for this time of year.
