Default Still find it hard to predict temperature

Having looked at 500hPa and 850hPa charts for a while I thought I was
getting a bit of the hang of it. Then the BBC News 24 latest forecast gives
Tmax for Xmas day for the S.Midlands and S.E as 5C and 7C for the same areas
on Boxing Day which I thought looked colder for these areas. Oh well, back
to the drawing board!

Dave

Thanks Jon, they are terrific, as was the precipitation animation you posted
the other day. I see the higher temp for Boxing Day is late on, presumably
as the warmer air starts to filter through. This url now firmly cemented
into my ever growing weather favourites folder.

Happy Christmas ,
Dave

....PS - also the hPa vs temp graphic shows clearly why current air (10.2C,
constant) temp here is not falling yet while the upper air is cooling, as
seen on the GFS charts etc.
