presenters to the effect that 'we needed the rain' etc., etc. The rain
has affected areas that, afaik, don't actually need a great deal, whilst
we here in the southeast (where there is an acknowledged problem) have
largely missed out on the higher totals.

Hi, Martin,

You are quite right. Currently 102% average for the year in Copley, so no
problems here. We get used to the southern England bias and tend not to
listen.

.... unfortunately, it is even worse that 'bias'; it's not knowing what
is going on & keeping up to date with the 'real' weather!
