Observer in the village of Sint Pauwels about 20 km west of Antwerp reports
30.5 mm rain in 40 mins from about 20.05 local time - hailstones up to 1.5 cm across as well. Storm appears as the most prominent black blob just south of the Dutch border on this radar pic for 20.15 http://www.weerwoord.be/uploads/2072005295826.jpg Similar storm seen in the village of Haasdonk a bit nearer Antwerp. Thunderstorm that caused me to switch my PC of for half an hour at 20.30 can also be seen over Brussels - dark red area with 2 adjacent black pixels. Colin Youngs Brussels |
