A fine, warm, sunny first three weeks were spoiled by a dull, cool
final week. Overall it was the driest July (with just 21.2 mm of rain) since records began (marginally drier than July 1998). The mean maximum was 20.0C, mean minimum 10.3, overall 15.2C. There was a particularly good warm spell midmonth, and the maximum of 29.0C on the 12th was the highest reading in any month since records began (and reputedly the highest locally since 1990). All readings (except grass minimum) via a Davis Weather Monitor II. More details at: http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~taharley/ Trevor Harley Lundie, elev. 180 m, 10 miles NW of Dundee |
