an approaching clearance but still quite gloomy here. At 08:00z:- 8/8 Sc/St/As, base of lowest layer c.700 metres. Temperature 13.8°C steady. Dew point 13.8°C. RH 100%. Wind 2 mph gusting to 6 mph, variable. Max gust 9 mph, S, at 06:30z. Barometer 1011.6 mb, rising slowly. Precipitation since midnight 15.6 mm at a maximum rate of 4.8 mm/hr at 05:45z. Total rainfall this month 61.8 mm. Total rainfall this year 1020.0 mm.
