Hi Mum,
I hope all is well over in Northern Ireland.
We just got back from a short trip over to Prince Edward Island.
it was kind of funny taking Nicola and Simon along on a camping trip...a
bit like old times !
We all wanted to go back a see Rainbow Valley before it closes
permanently - which happens next week. It had been there for 37 years
and we have so many happy memories of family trips there over the years.
We even took you you there once - do you remember it ?
Anyway we had a great day there and got to go on the water
slides and flume ride and a lot of other silly stuff...
Steve was still working in Newfoundland, so we had to take both
dogs with us, so the car was a little crowded. We had a box on the roof
for our stuff, and the dogs were in the back of the station wagon. They
actually behaved very well and were not as much of a limitation or our
activities as I feared they might be. and it was nice to take them
along the nature trail at the camp ground every morning.
The weather didn't cooperate very well, after the beautiful day
at Rainbow Valley, it turned damp and drizzly. So we went into
Charlottetown on Wednesday, and then packed up in the wet on Thursday.
I had to set the camper up again as soon as we got back so that it could
dry out properly and not get all moldy.
Steve got back from Newfoundland on Wednesday evening....so he
has hardly spent any time at home this summer !
He and Nicola are going to a resort hotel for the weekend to
celebrate their first anniversary. Hard to beloive it is a year already
! I gather they get to go whale watching and sea kayaking - sounds like
fun...and the weather looks to have improved again for them.

Thats all for this week,
we are off to Cape Breton for a few days next week..just Olive and me
this time..

see ya in a couple of months.
Love
Ted.

One hopes you were the only one nosey enough to read someone else's
mail.

I wonder what happened to the boy who spent summer in winter.

A pity it wasn't a bit more salacious.

A very good reason to have separate mail and news readers.

Salaciousness? I thank God it wasn't as it was written by two people in
there 50's or 60's!

Would 50-year-olds take charge of both dogs for a son who is away from
home?

Besides a 1st anniversary would put them in the position of parents
still old enough to ride on a log flume would it not?

(Not that age is a reason for their occlusion from such folly of
course.)
