The link they don't post is the local radar animation http://radar.weather.gov/radar/loop/.../si.kamx.shtml I managed to keep the piccie open despite the message that data was unavailable by judicial use of the stop button. Is the data it does show accurate or dated? On another link I got this 123 rule: The 1-2-3 Rule, commonly taught to mariners, refers to the rounded long-term NHC/TPC forecast errors of 100-200-300 nautical miles at 24-48-72 hours, respectively. The NHC/TPC does not warrant that avoiding these danger areas will eliminate the risk of harm from tropical cyclones. Users operating in the vicinity of these systems are advised to continually monitor the latest Forecast/Advisories from the TPC/NHC and proceed at their own risk. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/grap...02.shtml?basin How would that play out with tempestuous weather oop nowth? -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

Katrina's winds reached 100mph (160 km/h), and the hurricane is gathering strength as it crosses the Gulf of Mexico towards north-west Florida. The authorities said it would take days to restore power to those affected by the lashing winds and rain." So much for "minimal hurricane", as it was described in the media.. They really should stop using such misleading descriptions - it's even worse than "mini tornado" - which can also kill. -- Dave |
