(-: -- Gianna www.buchan-meteo.org.uk www.buchan-nature.org.uk Sorry to hear the whole country isn't having a glorious day. I'd have thought that with a southerly breeze you'd be having a nice day up there Gianna. Perhaps it's nice only a few miles inland from you? Quite probably, Alex. It is just the fog keeping things cool - I am not especially good at measuring visibility but I cannot see where the land ends and the sea begins, so it is below 200 metres but better than 100. On the plus side, while it is always fairly quiet here, it is now very quiet, as in no signs of life. -- Gianna |

k Sensational!!! Currently 27.5ºC here with a lovely gentle breeze. Old site record well and truely smashed. The second warmest day of the year after July 11th (28.9ºC) Quite simply the finest September day in my lifetime. Back to the garden... Alex. It has been like that here on the north Irish coast. I measured the temperature with a whirling psychrometer late afternoon and recorded over 27C. I think it will be the warmest day of the summer here. Much middle level stuff now moving over from the south - looks quite unstable up there. -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 04/09/2005 19:05:00 UTC |

Malin Head, a few miles to my north east, recorded a temperature of 23.4C which compares with an absolute September maximum of 23.2C in the 1961-1990 period. -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 05/09/2005 10:11:15 UTC |

Sensational!!! Currently 27.5ºC here with a lovely gentle breeze. We didn't quite beat our record here - 23.8C yesterday before the wind turned a bit more easterly and then the haze turned into fog. By 6 pm the temperature had plummeted to just over 15C. Today has been dull and foggy, with no thunder in sight (so to speak). Oh well, it's snow to look forward to now I suppose.
