hi there.....i'm installing a wireless sensor outside (supplied with a
lacrosse station) & am trying to figure out the best location. 1 - obviously out of direct sunlight (i've had to move from my position yesterday as i found this morning there was a small area of sunlight reflection coming from a nearby out-house appearing over the sensor and this was increasing the temp abnormally) 2 - does it matter what height the sensor is placed at? i've tried 2 positions today, the first about 4 feet off the ground & the second about 1 feet off the ground, both attached to a wall / shed. with the lower 1 foot height, i found the sensor measured 0.6-0.8 lower than the readings taken at the 4 foot level 3 - does anyone know whether these plastic sensors are ok in the rain or ok with the occasional raindrop. is it just the battery compartment on the reverse that should be hidden from rain? many thanks stuart hitchin.....herts |
