Just to add, the minimum may be wrong, as you say - the graphs at
http://www.skyeweather.co.uk/graphs/today.php suggest a steady climb
from about 17C at midnight to 21.5C before the cloud moved in

It looks as if the 9pm-9pm max at Capel Curig today was -8.6C which if
confirmed would be an all-time record low maximum for Wales (beating
