SW Wales - downpour?

Just been checking the Met Office radar. South West Wales looks a bit damp
with "downpour" on the radar, unless my eyes are bad?

Any reports from down there?

debate.

The old charts with fronts and isobars is what got me interested in the
first place,
to find out what was going...

Thunderstorm & Hail - Leeds

Short but intense hailstorm with thunder and lightning brought a decent
covering of hail, drifts in some corners, and temps dipped below 5C for a
few minutes c. 1740.

Downpour in Leeds

Just now a very heavy downpour, faily short lived, about 10-15 mins but also
accompanied by a 2.5C drop in temperature. Brightnening of skies to North.

I've another request....

Greater Manchester Fire Service did some research and found a huge increase
in grass fires in March 1 to April 14 2003 compared with the same period in
2002.

With the current set up in the Atlantic, it is interesting to note that it
has been raining for some time now in the central Sahara.

Ah ha! So my friend who told me was right that German tv was reporting temps
of around -45 (near enough for the media anyway). It seemed a bit extreme so
I'd thought I'd ask around first.

Tuesday March 1st saw -25C reported at 6am at Munich airport.

Were there any lower temps around, not reported on Wetterzentrale or
Wunderground?

Puts this current kerfuffle about our cold snap...

Has anyone any info about the blizzard that hit Poland last Friday?
Apparently there were mean wind speeds of 100km/h, widespread blackouts in
Silesia and 9 fatalities. Funny that there was nowt...

Very definitely thunder over East Leeds now at 1305, dark skies to the
south.
