The Larkhill ascent is probably basically for Army use. Temp and wind data
are needed for long-range artillery firing .... remember the days with the

Not so strange... as has been said, one of a number of models of Precision
Aneroids which replaced the Kew Pattern mercury barometers at UK Met Offices
sometime in the 70's or 80's
